Which Honda Models Offer AWD?

Honda CR-V AWD

The Centennial, Aurora, and Denver, CO, area is known for breathtaking views and adventurous terrain. Sometimes mountainous, sometimes snowy, and sometimes unpredictable, navigating it takes a rugged vehicle with a capable all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

There are several Honda models that offer AWD, all of which you’ll find here at Mile High Honda. Want to learn more about them? We’re ready to help.

Honda Intelligent Variable Torque Management™ AWD Models

There are two different AWD systems available in the Honda lineup—the first is Intelligent Variable Torque Management™ (i-VTM4®). As the name suggests, this system places special focus on the variable front-to-rear distribution of torque to your wheels. It can greatly improve handling on slick terrain, on dry, yet loose roads, and while turning.

There are currently three different models in the Honda family with i-VTM4®, and each offers its own benefits.

Honda Ridgeline:

Honda Ridgeline

The Ridgeline is the only pickup truck in the Honda family and offers a perfect option for anyone who needs extra cargo room in the back for tools or toys. The truck bed offers 33.9 cubic feet of space with an additional 7.3 cubic feet of In-Bed Trunk® space.

Honda Passport:

Honda Passport

An old stalwart of Honda, the Passport has returned to the lineup to provide yet another excellent SUV option. In terms of size, it’s not too big and not too small—just right for adventure, you might say! Its handling and cargo were made for off-road adventure.

Honda Pilot:

Honda Pilot

The Honda Pilot, on the other hand, is the bigger, family-focused SUV in the bunch. It seats up to eight passengers as well as adding ample cargo room, so everyone and everything should be able to fit comfortably.

Honda Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System™ Models

Real Time AWD with the Intelligent Control System™ is a bit different from i-VTM4®, in that it more closely emulates a traditional AWD system. This drivetrain has been tuned to ensure there’s virtually no lag between wheel engagement when traction is lost. It makes for an overall smoother system and is available in two more models.

Honda CR-V:

Honda CR-V Driving

As a crossover, the Honda CR-V bridges the gap between sedans like the Accord and more spacious SUVs such as the Pilot. In addition to AWD and Honda Sensing® driver assist safety technologies, it offers up 105.9 cubic feet of passenger space for a comfy ride.

Honda HR-V:

Honda HR-V

In many ways, you’ll find the Honda HR-V is very much like the CR-V. The biggest difference is that it’s a little bit more compact. It has 100.1 cubic feet of passenger space and has a slightly more compact body.
