Colorado is known for skiing, snowboarding, and sledding, but ice skating is one of Denver’s most popular winter pastimes. Now that there’s a nip in the air, it’s time grab some friends, lace up your blades, and hit the ice at some of Denver’s greatest ice skating spots.

Southwest Rink at Skyline Park
Located in the heart of downtown Denver, the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park is a great place to spend the day with family. Take in the fresh air and views of Denver’s skyline as you slide up and down this massive outdoor rink, which hosts live music on Fridays and Broomball Challenges Monday to Thursday.
The Southwest Rink at Skyline Park, located at 16th and Arapahoe Street, is open from November 22, 2016 to February 14, 2017. Admission is free, but skate rentals are $2.
The Rink at Belmar
Celebrate the winter season with the canopy of white lights and festive ambiance at The Rink at Belmar.
Belmar’s winter wonderland and luxurious surroundings will immediately put you in the holiday spirit. And with several enchanting shops and restaurants nearby, it’s easy to spend a day at The Rink at Belmar.

Skate in the Park
Skate in the Park is the only outdoor ice skating rink in Downtown Colorado Springs and is heralded for its family-friendly theme days and activities. Open daily through January 16, 2017, you won’t want to miss this year’s Skate in the Park, which costs $10 per person for admission, including skates.
There are several special events taking place at Skate in the Park this year, including Broncos Pride on New Years’ Day and Neon Night on January 6. Check out Skate in the Park’s website to learn more about its theme days.
Denver International Airport
The Denver International Airport is hosting a free ice skating rink on its open-air plaza, complete with live entertainment, seasonal music, and decorations in the Jeppesen Terminal. Come experience the best that Colorado offers each winter with complimentary skates and a festive family-friendly atmosphere.
The Denver International Airport’s ice skating rink is open from November 25, 2016 to Jan 1, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Ice Centre at the Promenade
With skating lessons, public skating, adult hockey, and a great pro shop, the Ice Centre at the Promenade is a great rink for skaters of all ability levels.
The Ice Centre is in Westminster and its state-of-the-art facility is a great spot for learning how to skate. Offering three sheets of ice and Bender’s Sports Bar & Grill, Ice Centre is perfect for an afternoon with family, friends, or first dates.
