Honda Civic Engine Specs
If you want a sedan with engine specs that balance performance and efficiency, you’ll probably like what the Honda Civic has under its hood. You’ll have your choice between two different engines:
- 2.0L I-4: 158 horsepower, 138 lb-ft of torque
- 1.5L turbo I-4: 174 horsepower, 167 lb-ft of torque
For an especially sporty drive, you can pair your 2.0L engine with a 6-speed manual transmission that gives you complete control over your shift schedules. With this transmission, you can achieve an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 25 MPG city and 36 MPH highway.1
If you prefer an automatic, you can equip your engine with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This optimizes performance and improves fuel economy by providing nearly infinite shift points between the upper and lower limits. With the CVT, this engine can get an EPA-estimated 30 MPG city and 38 MPG highway fuel economy.1
The 1.5L turbocharged engine is also paired with a CVT and, in addition to providing more power, can also get you the highest EPA-estimated fuel economy, at 32 MPG city and 42 MPG highway.1
2019 Honda Civic Review: Interior Features
Inside the 2019 Civic, you’ll find a comfortable cabin with plenty of high-tech amenities and enough room for you and four of your closest friends/family members. These five seats share the 97.8-cubic-foot passenger volume, which includes the following measurements:
- Headroom (front/rear): 39.3/37.1 inches
- Legroom (front/rear): 42.3/37.4 inches
You’ll have the freedom to decorate your interior to your liking, as well, with a choice between cloth or available leather seating appointments. These come in Gray, Ivory, or Black.
To round out the cabin space is an available 7-inch touchscreen that sits up front in the center stack. This is a hub of information where you can view important data like incoming calls or music streaming information.
Standard Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® and Streaming Audio allow you to link your smartphone to your car and make calls without taking your hands off the wheel. You can also play music from your wireless device directly through your car’s speakers.
2019 Civic and Safety Technology
One of the biggest draws to the 2019 Honda Civic for many local drivers is that it comes standard with so many safety technologies, including:
- Lane Keeping Assist System
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Auto High-Beam Headlights
- Forward Collision Warning
- Collision Mitigation Braking System™
These are included as part of the standard Honda Sensing® suite, which is designed to help you be more aware of your surroundings while you’re out and about.
Another feature that’s available is Honda LaneWatch™. When you activate your right turn signal, this feature will display a video feed of your passenger-side blind spot to give you a clearer view of your intended lane. This is especially helpful when trying to change lanes in a well-travelled area.
