Rhythm and Ritual: Music of the Ancient Americas
This exhibit is a unique hybrid of both in-person and virtual experiences, showcasing over 80 musical instruments from 1000 BCE to 1530 CE. Discover the music of the Olmec, Andean, and Maya peoples, and learn how they incorporated music into their everyday lives.
La Misiòn at the Tragen Folk Art Gallery is the centerpiece of the Museo. Featuring 20 pieces of art from the 17th century to present day, it tells a story of the people living in the Rio Grande River Valley.
Educational Programs & Events
Apart from their exhibits, Museo De Las Americas also offers a selection of educational programs and events.
Join the Museo masters for weekly cultural art workshops, or partake in a STEAM workshop, which teaches the life and culture of Latin America through the lens of science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
One of the Museo’s most popular and exciting events is their annual Día de Los Muertos Celebration. Here, attendees can partake in a costume contest, traditional procession, sugar skull decorating, and much more.
